Bible Fellowship Church of Adams County

Our Denomination

Our Core Values

1. Biblical Truth, the Inerrant Word of God.

We value God’s Word to be absolute truth, inspired by the Holy Spirit, altogether trustworthy, and preserved  for our daily instruction.  (John 17:17; II Timothy 3:16)

2. Salvation by Grace alone.

We value God’s sovereign grace whereby, in accordance with His will and redemptive purpose, He chose a people from fallen mankind, redeemed them by the blood of Christ, and granted them the gifts of faith and repentance.  (Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 9:18; Ephesians 1:4; Galatians 3:13; Hebrews 12:2; Acts 5:31)

3. Worship of the Sovereign God.

We value worshiping the triune God of the Bible, magnifying the Creator and Author everything, the Ruler of the universe, the Initiator of salvation,  the Sustainer of spiritual life, celebrating the only sovereign God, the sole Object of our worship.  (John 4:23,24; Psalm 33: 6,9; Acts 17:25,28; Ephesians 2:8,9; Philippians 1:6)

4. Consistent Proclamation of the Truth of Scripture.

We value preaching and teaching of God’s Word that proclaims the truth of the gospel,  gives light for our daily walk with God and supplies spiritual guidance for all of life.  (Romans 10:14,15; John 1:4-9, Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 3:6)

5. Progressive Spiritual Growth

We value growing in our knowledge of Christ and our likeness to Christ through the discipline of daily prayer, study of God’s Word, and fellowship with God’s people.  (II Peter 3:18; Colossians 1:28; II Timothy 3:15-17; II Timothy 2:15; Psalm 119)

6. Submission to God’s Word

We value obeying  the commands and teaching of Scripture as we come to understand it’s truth.  (I John 3:24; I Samuel 15:22;  Psalm 119:9-16, 33-36; Hosea 6:6; John 17:17)

7. Sharing God’s Word

We value proclaiming the gospel to our neighbors and to all the world, making disciples for the glory of God.  (Matthew 28:19,20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8)

8. Wholesome Family Life

We value training that helps families honor and obey God by loving and caring for each another, and by worshiping God together at home and in the church.  (Matthew 15:4; Deuteronomy 5:16; Leviticus 19:3; Exodus 20:12; Psalm 95:6)

9. Children and Youth

We value teaching that equips our children and youth with spiritual insight and discernment so they may respond to the Shepherd’s voice and resist the enemy’s entrapments.  (Proverbs 22:6; Deuteronomy 6:6,7; John 10:14; Ephesians 6:11; James 4:7)

10.  Loving Relationships

We value building strong and lasting relationships within the community of believers through the fellowship of the Gospel in small groups, service projects, and all church life.  (I John 4:7; Ephesians 4:14-16, 25,32)

11.  Human Life

We value all humans— including those pre-born, the elderly and infirm — because they are created in God’s image.  Therefore we will seek to protect and serve all regardless of age, gender, disability, ethnic background or socio-economic status.  (Genesis 1:26, 27; 5:1, 9:6; Psalm 8:5, Exodux 20:13; Job 33:4; Isaiah 64:8; Jeremiah 1:4,5; Romans 13:1-10)
