Our church is honored to serve the New Oxford and Gettysburg communities, each with their unique cultures, attractions, and personalities.  The two towns provide a very rich diversity in a portion of Pennsylvania where you might not expect it.  The cultural life in Gettysburg is flavored considerably by three academic institutions; a liberal arts college, a seminary, and a community college.  It has a thriving arts interest and of course a rich historical background that brings all manner of tourists throughout the year (mainly during the summer months).  New Oxford more resembles a quaint, traditional Pennsylvania town.  However, there is an increasing ethnic diversity in the community and lots of projected development along the fringes as Baltimore and Washington spread their suburban sprawl up north.

There is plenty of opportunity to engage in vigorous sports debates.  Being in the vicinity of Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Washington, and Philadelphia, you see all sorts of colors around town and can mix it up in various local sports pubs and hangouts.

People here enjoy being part of Adams County.  They demonstrate genuine interest in the well-being of their communities and take pride in their uniqueness and rich traditions.

It is our desire to very much be part of the life of Adams County; to serve the neighborhoods, enjoy the community, and be part of their continued growth.

To find out what’s happening around town, you can check out one of the online calendars.  Our suggestion though would be to pop in at one of the local coffee shops (i.e. the New Oxford Coffee Company, or the Ragged Edge), diners (i.e. Cross Keys or The Lincoln Diner), or pubs (i.e. Scozzaro’s or Garryowen’s); check out the bulletin boards, mix it up with folks gathered the tables, get a much more personal take on the life of Adams County.
